Professional Nurse Externship Program
The Professional Nurse Externship Program provides an employment opportunity for the professional nursing student to strengthen and reinforce his/her knowledge and skills through clinical experience in a hospital environment under the direct supervision of a professional nurse mentor. This program is selective and students must meet specific criteria to be considered for employment. Students may be assigned to a clinical/specialty-nursing unit in which they have expressed a strong interest. The program takes place from June through August and may last 6 or 10 weeks, depending upon the length of the student's summer break.
