On December 7, 2006, The Western Pennsylvania Hospital achieved Magnet Recognition status from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
West Penn Hospital is the first and only hospital in Pittsburgh and western Pennsylvania to receive this prestigious recognition, which has been achieved by only about 5% of all healthcare facilities in the nation. Read more

Each year, The Western Pennsylvania Hospital Nursing Division and West Penn nurses sponsor or participate in numerous professional education and community wellness/outreach events and activities.

19th Annual Regina Marini Oncology Nursing Conference
Sponsored annually by West Penn Hospital and the Greater Pittsburgh Chapter of the Oncology Nursing Society. Application is made for 3 contact hours to the PSNA, an accredited provider by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
