 Canonsburg General Hospital was built as a result of an outpouring of financial support from our community. The community’s involvement has allowed the hospital to continue its more than 100-year tradition of providing high-quality, low-cost care with linkages to the latest medical research and advanced technology. The newest initiative Canonsburg General Hospital is embarking upon is the Women's Center of Excellence. The Center will provide women's health care services at the hospital and will utilize newly acquired equipment, such as a digital mammography machine, capable of stereotactic breast biopsies, and a state-of-the-art MRI unit. The Center will have a private entrance, individual exam rooms and access to a full complement of medical care available in the hospital.
During the summer of 2010, the hospital will begin the Patient Gateway Project that will expand and enhance the hospital's main lobby areas. The gateway will provide greater privacy to patients and improve the flow throughout the hospital. Construction is expected to begin mid-Summer. Gifts to these projects or specific initiatives provide that margin of excellence our community has come to expect and will provide accessible health care for all.
